The Kentgigs Local Band Show is dedicated to the people and bands in the South East who helped form the live music scene as it is today and the new musicians starting from scratch now. Occasionally guests will perform live exclusively for the station.
Chris Ashman is an ex-musician and Kent music business entrepreneur having spent his youth operating the first recording studio in Folkestone. Over the 14years operating Europa Sound Studios he was fortunate enough to record many fine local and international artists. Some of these recordings will be played on the show along with local bands demos and releases. This close contact with the music business and later running his own record and music publishing company gave him the resources to compile a history of Kent Bands and Musicians with information covering 1958 to 1990. Chris has run the Kent & E Sussex Gig Guide since 1981 promoting the the music and venues of Kent & E Sussex.
